I had a quick look . . through "Roots" for a Jos.Wall . . . in Tipperary . . date unknown . . Modreeny   

Modreeny is situated . . . close to Ballingarry, North TIPPERARY . . . . . . 

I found a Joseph Wall  (see attached) . .birth being registered . . .

2 Jul.1881 . . in a small village of " CARRIG " Riverstown . . (see map below)

Son of John Wall (Teacher) and Maria O'Brien . . . 

I am not sure . . where in the World . . you are Marjorie  . . . BUT . . 

when I look for a Joseph Wall . . .EMIGRATING . . . approx. 20 y.o. . . I find the following . . to New York (see below)

there many other Jos.Wall's listed emigrating out of the U.K. around that time also . . to the U.S. . . some to Canada

SO . . I am not at all sure if this is your Joseph  . . . 

BUT . . as Miriam rightly pointed out . . . we need a lot more clues . . from your knowledge . . dates,places, etc. etc.
