Hi everyone, I am trying to find a baptismal record for my GG grandfather, Edward TREACY.  He was born between 1821 and 1827.  I don't know his parents names, but I do know he had one brother and one sister and his father was a farmer.  I know it's very little to give you, but that's all I have for the moment.  I have good reason to believe he is from here, although he married at St. Cronan's in Roscrea to Margaret Delahunty in 1854 and 4 of their children were baptized there also, while their residence was at Mountheaton, County Offaly.  They immigrated to New York City in 1860.  Many thanks in advance.       Kathleen Tracy

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The Mullinahone RC records go back to 1809  http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0277  I searched on Find My Past and the earliest Edward Treacy (plus variants) baptismal record in Mullinahone was in 1836.

There were a few baptismal records in the 1820s in other parishes. The only record in Roscrea was in 1815.

  • Hi Roger,

I'm sorry I haven't responded previously.  Thanks so much for this information that I'm seeing for the first time (maybe second time?), but I don't remember seeing before now.  I appreciate you taking the time in looking up this information.  It helps a lot to have this information and for me to go forward with my research.
