I believe that my great, great grandfather Michael Kennedy from Templederry & his wife Bridget Young from Rusheen, may have been married at Borrisoleigh on 11 February 1847. What I do know is that Michael & Bridget emigated to Australia with their son James (age 1). They sailed from Southampton on 2 January 1854 aboard the 'Persian', arriving in Melbourne 9 April 1854. Confirmation of their marriage, plus any other information about Michael & Bridget (& their relatives), would be greatly appreciated.

the parishes above are in the diocese of Cashel and Emly and the church records can only be accessed through their genealogy office in Tipperary Town for a fee or they are on microfilm in the National Library in Dublin

My ancestors James Young and Johanna Ryan both of Rusheen married at Nenagh in1849. James parents were James Young and Mary Kennedy.James and Johanna sailed for Sydney on the Neptune arriving 1853 reuniting with relative Rody Ryan. More info available if wanted cheers rod Jeffery
