I am just beginning my search for my great grandmother, Mary Ann O'Connor who came from Ballyporeen in Tipperary.
She was born in 1862 and was the daughter of John O'Connor and Catherine Lyons.
She married my grandfather Michael Keating in Queensland Australia in 1885.

Searching on Roots Ireland for any evidence of Mary Ann O'Connor or her parents, my searches come up with the surnames Connors and Maher. Are they alternative versions of the name O'Connor.
