I have just joined this site. I have copies of handwritten certificates which were filled out when my ancestors left Ireland in April, 1825 as part of the Peter Robinson settlers who settled in the Peterborough Onario area. The parish name written on the certificate looks closest to the spelling of Templetenny but has a dot over the last 'e' ? I have looked at the list of parishes in Tipperary and there are no other names that appear to match as closely, so I am assuming that the dot over the e is just a slip of the pen.
I have heard that the family name was originally spelled 'Inglis' and that it was changed when the certificates were filled out to 'English' but I have no verification of this.
During the summer of 2005, I completed some extensive research in the archives of Peterborough and Ottawa and have collected copies of many documents that were compiled while the settlers were transported and established on their farms in Canada. I can scan and post these on this site if it is desired.

I am very interested in the Peter Robinson Settlers, i am from Ballyporeen (Templetenny) and family of mine Slatterys left on the Hebe Ship in 1823, it would be interesting to see if they are included in some of the documents you have?
There was a mass movement at that time from around Ballyporeen, Clogheen, right down the Blackwater Valley into Mallow as the main Landlords at that time saw it as an opportunity to move on their more "troublesome" tenants by all accounts!
I know there are people in Kilbehenny also who are very interested in the Peter Robinson Settlers story also....
