Thomas Ryan married Mary Kennedy b. 1898, Cappanavilla, at Upperchurch 1922. I am looking for any descendants of this marriage. Thomas's parents were James Ryan and Mary Corbett who married at Upperchurch in 1862. They had 14 children altogether.

Hi Patience,
I can only find five children. up to now.
James, John, Thomas, Kate, Patrick,I have uploaded Thomas' birth record and Mary and James Deaths records.
Do you know the other names?
I will see if I can find marriages for the above four.
Cheers

Thank you Margot. I think my message was open to misinterpretation. I have records for all 14 children of James Ryan and Mary Corbett.
First Catherine died as a baby; First John died; James never married and stayed in the homeplace; Bridget possibly emigrated and married my Great Uncle. Which leaves Thomas who married Mary Kennedy and their descendants are the ones I am interested in as I need to confirm the connection to my family.
(I haven't been able to find the other 9 children of James Ryan and Mary Corbett locally, neither deaths nor marriages. They might all have emigrated! )
Appreciate your help, as normally I would be over in Upperchurch doing some research.

Going by their marriage year, you are in between obtaining information.
In the Ireland Genealogy site births are up to 1919/20, these are added after 100 years has lapsed.
Family search.org is the next place to look, BUT, these only state the mothers maiden name after 1925/28, though they do have births up to 1958. (I have seen myself)
There are children born to Ryan and Kennedy, 1923 to 1940 and many more to Ryan, these are all registered in Thurles.
I have checked various sites to see if I could not find any matching trees.
I have attached Mary Kennedy's birth and her parents marriage.
The next Census of Ireland was in 1925, we are all waiting for 2025/6.

Margot, Yes that is marriage of Thomas Ryan I found. Thank you for Kennedy birth and marriage. I hadn't pursued them as I am more concerned at present with confirming that I have the right Ryan family. Knew I couldn't get births on irish site but not sure if I have checked with familysearch.org so will look again. Other siblings of Thomas I found are:
Michael 3/2/1863; Ellen 23/1/1864; Edmund 10/2/1866; Bridget 27/1/1867; Johanna 9/10/1870; Mary 14/1/1875; Denis 30/11/1878.
There was quite a clan of Ryans at Garranakilka and they used a lot of same names for their children, so can be quite confusing.

Hi,
Yes I agree, so many Ryan's.
Also, Three Ryan and Corbett's with mothers Christian names a Margaret and a Julia Corbett and then your Mary.
From your list I couldnt find Michael, Johanna and Mary. I did see Ellen, Edmund, Bridget and Denis.
In the 1901 Census I saw James, John, Thomas and Katie.
In the 1911 Census I saw James Kate and Patrick.I have attached John's birth record and Patrick's birth record.
I cannot find Kate or James.

Thank you for births of John and Patrick. Have all records up to 1911 now for Garranakilka Or Garnakilka as the modern version seems to be.

I would say yes, between all the sites you can gather the information. It takes time, the way I work is, I search back as you see more information.

Thank you Margot
Yes, I noticed the granddaughter on both the 1901 and 1911 Censuses when I looked. Unfortunately, don't know whose child she is as can't find a marriage for a Maher and a Ryan.

This is Johanna Maher in 1911.
National Archives: Census of Ireland 1911I have attached her birth, it says her Mother is Johanna Ryan.
see below.Margot

Margot, not the right Johanna Ryan. On the marriage to Edmund Maher it says her father was Martin. Also the Maher daughter was born 1906 so couldn't be on 1901 Census with the Ryans.

I had a list of all Johanna's.Margot

Thank you Margot but this one isn't right either. I think the mother is Dwyer. Know the writing is hard to read. i suppose it could be right if the child isn't a granddaughter!
