I have a relative, Philip Brennan (I have seen other spellings also). I will be vacationing in Ireland September 2023 and am hoping to connect with anything related to Philip. Thru Ancestory.com and the EPIC museum in Dublin and other research, I have located a few items that may lead to my relatives. If you have any feedback on the items listed below, I would appreciate a response. Also, if you have suggestions on other places to look that would be great too. We have located on Griffith's Valuation a location in Shesharoe "5 a",a 55 acre farm that he owned. The Map accompanying it shows the numbers for other parcels of land, but "5 a " is not listed. by comparing maps from the old Griffith's Valuation and today's google maps and google earth, the property appears to sit just north and west of the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Much of that area still seems to be farm land. I’m wondering how I can find out who owns the property now, or how I could determine what acreage was owned by Philip Brennan. Death of Philip Brennan 1873 Sesharoe We also know that Philip and his wife, Honora Kerekan had a daughter, Anne Brennan in 1836. She is my 2nd great-grandmother. We have her baptismal record below. I was hoping to find the church she was baptized in. Would anyone in the group have contact with the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and know how I could research this? Name Anne Brenan Baptism Age 0 Event Type Baptism Birth Date 30 Mar 1835 Baptism Date 30 Mar 1835 Baptism Place Youghal Arra, Tipperary, Ireland Parish Variants Arra, Burgess, Burgess and Youghal, Youghal, Youghalarra Diocese Killaloe Father Philip Brenan Mother Honora Kerekan Thank you in advance for any information Bob Boyle Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA.

I copied this message from a pending posting to the Ancestor data base. It is more appropriate as a new message. Sorry the spacing is not helpful.

  • Bob,

Attached church record for baptism of Anne Brenan on March 30th 1836 in Youghalarra.

There appears to be a discrepancy in relation to the years in the different records.

The church record is 30th March 1836 which corresponds with Subscription site www.rootsireland.ie.

Roots has her mother recorded as "Honor Kenehan".

  • Thank you, McCoy, for the information.  Yes, I do have some of it, but this was helpful.  You suggested that I reach out to Jane Halloran Ryan and gave me her email address of jhalloryan.com however that is not an active email address.  can you please get me the correct one?

    Thanks
