Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the long delay in getting back to you.
I hope someone with a connection to the family will be in touch. In the meantime, I wanted to invite you to add your ancestor's details to our XO Chronicles. You can learn more about it HERE and it might be another avenue to consider so that your ancestor's details can be seen by others.
Best wishes

Hi Victor and Maggie,
I have an Isabella Stark in my family tree. She died in Brighton, Victoria, Austalia on the 9th April, 1877. It states on her death certificate born Badoney, Tyrone, Ireland and father James Stark and mother Margaret Stark formerly Adams.
Isabella was married to William Arnold at Badoney at 24 years of age and had 9 children all born in Ireland John, James, Mary, Margaret, Jane, Rebecca, William, Isabella and Robert.
In the Tithe Applotment Book 1825-26 Bodoney Upper Parish , James Stark and William Stark- Minachar (Meenachar).
Meenachar is in the townland of Dergbrough 674 acres.
Also in the Glenelly Presbyterian Church Marriages, Bodoney Upper Parish 1845-50 8th August, 1850
William Stark, farmer Derbrough, Parish of Upper Bodoney Father William Stark father and Eliza Martin Landahussy, Father Thomas Martin, farmer. Witnesses William McCullagh and John McElrea.
I joined a facebook group called Glenelly Our Home and they had a photo of a farm house and said it had belonged to the Stark
family.
Hopefully we are from the same Stark Family.

Hi Alison,
I suspect the Starks were all from the one family but don't know for sure.
My g-grandfather Moses Stewart was baptised in the Glenelly Presbyterian Church, Upper Badoney 03 July 1862. His parents were Alexander Stewart and Mary Ann Stark. [Moses moved away from the Glenelly Valley c 1895]. Alexander and Mary Ann married in the same church on 05 Sep 1861. The marriage certificate shows that both were of full age, he bachelor, she spinster, he a farmer. Both residents of Dergbrough (townland of Upper Bodoney). Both fathers (Moses Stewart and William Stark) listed as farmers. Married in Presbyterian meeting house by license. Both signed. Witnesses were John Cambell and Isabella Moore. Minister was John Moore.
Alexander's mother was Mary Stark so perhaps he married a relative - I don't know as I haven't been able to determine her parents.
Mary Ann's parents were William Stark (per above) and Nancy Campbell. I don't have a marrioege date but they have a son (William) baptised in Glenelly in July 1838 so I guess before then. Not 100% on where they lived but was Dergbrough by 1861 per above. Like you I also noted the 1825 Minchar tithe assesment citing a William and James Stark but dubious my William old enough at that time.
Thanks for the mention of the 'Glenelly our home' facebook group, very interesting. I could find the Stark house item you mentioned but maybe I did not go back far enough.
Regards,
Victor Paul

Hi Alison,
Nice to see another Stark researcher on here. I have been working many years trying to organize the Starks into family groups but there are so many Williams, James, Marys! Also have tried to work backwards from the 1901 and 1911 census of Scotland. There is just so much information missing that it is difficult to confirm connections.
My grt grt grandfather is Joseph Stark, born about 1840, married to Mary Jane Smith on 02 Feb 1860 in Glenelly Presbyterian. He died 21 of July 1890. His father was William Stark and he died 27 September also 1890. Mary Stark was the witness at both deaths in Derbrough. I have not confirmed that this William Stark was married to Nancy Campbell which would connect my family with Victor's.
I believe that William Stark who died in 1890, had two brothers, James and John per Griffiths, their plots of land, 11, 12 & 13. If you look on one of the old maps, these three sections of land are all together.
William had four children (I think) - Joseph (my grt grt grandfather b 1840, William b 1838 (m to Eliza Martin), Mary Anne b 1842 and George b 1844.
I haven't run across any Isabella Starks previously, but will keep my eyes open.
I just did my dna on Ancestry so am hopeful I will find some Stark relatives through one of the many cousins. Haven't had a chance to tackle that project yet. Have you had your dna tested yet?
I am sure we are 5th or 6th cousins so, glad to meet you.

Hi Maggie,
How exciting to meet you. This is just a quick note to say that I'm on a facebook site called Gleneelly our home and a lady named Margaret Smith Brown wrote that her great great grandparents are Joseph and Mary Smyth Stark.
I've attached photo of that one posted on the site,
Just wanted to rush this note of too you and maybe it's another cousin!
