Blevings

Unfortunately the marriage records in Carnteel don't give the names of parents.

The marriage record for James and Margaret in Carnteel reads as follows:

James Blevins of Terlugan, Farmer and Margaret White of said townland, Spinster both of the Parish of Carnteel were legally married in the Parish Church of Carnteel by Licence on this 1st day of February 1833 by me Edward Stopford, Rector.

I wasn't able to find any birth record for James Blevins [sometimes recorded as Blemings or Blemmings].  I tried Aughnacloy Presbyterian records as well but no success.

There was a Baptism record for a Margaret White daughter of Robert White, Edentilone and Sarah Carruth his wife born 1st January 1817 and Baptised 2nd February 1817.  If this is the right Margaret then she had just turned 16 years of age when she married James.

Also born to Robert White and Sarah Carruth were Sally Ann born 6th December 1822 and Baptised 6th January 1823 and James born 25th February 1825 and Baptised 28th May 1825.

Alexander White and Margaret Magee [both of Caledon] were married on 5th August 1817 in Carnteel.  The only birth atrributed to them that I could see was George born 16th January 1824 and Baptised 8th February 1824.

Birth records in Carnteel which name both parents show that John White was married to Mary Gilmore, Samuel White was married to Anne Watson, John Lucas was married to Mary White, Alexander MaClean was married to Mary-Ann White, William Cuddy was married to Anne Blemmings and David Blemmings was married to Mary [?].  I wasn't able to find the corresponding marriages.

I don't know if you have the date of births of James and Margaret's children but they were as follows:

William James born 10th September 1833 and Baptised 10th November 1833

Mary born 25th January 1836 and Baptised 2nd February 1836

Jane born November 1838 [no day given] and Baptised 16th December 1838

John born 21st April 1841 and Baptised 21st April 1841

Anne Elizabeth born 5th September 1846 and Baptised 4th October 1846

Robert born 5th October 1849 and Baptised 28th October 1849.
