Hi - I'm tracing my ancestors, we believe that my great-grandfather Patrick Henry was from Dungannon, he was the only son with three sisters. His parents were James Henry and Mary Ann McKerman (or McKermam - not legible). Patrick was born in 1902, and they immigrated to Scotland (not sure when or how he was) but the scottish records show his marriage in 1928.
not sure whether anyone has links to this family, or records of them.

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
You may be able to find records of the family in civil records which are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is a link to their website:
http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm
You can search the indexes to these records online at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1408347
For more information on what is contained in these records and how to obtain them go to:
http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/Irish-civil-registration.html
Church records can also have some useful information. As civil registration only began in Ireland in 1864, these will be your main source of information for births, deaths, marriages in the family prior to this date, as well as after.
Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Dungannon parish, follow this link:
For information on Church of Ireland records check:
http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/.
www.familysearch.org have some records available online.
You can also search for the family in the 1901/1911 census records which have lots of useful information
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
Going back further you could try looking for the family in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. here are two:
The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Other websites that you may find useful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
The National Archives UK ? genealogy search: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/
The Public Records Office of Northern Ireland http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/family_history.htm
Genealogy Links: http://www.genealogylinks.net/uk/ireland/tyrone/index.html
The National Archives Scotland- family history: http://www.nas.gov.uk/familyHistory/
Alternatively you could contact the Irish World Heritage Centre in Tyrone for assistance, however a fee may apply.
I hope that some of this is helpful. Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
