My great great grandfather, Thomas Hanna's (b. ca. 1838). The family story is that his last residence before emmigrating to New York in 1871 was Derrylee just over the Tryrone border in Armagh, Killyman Parish. I don't think they lived there long because most of the records are from Tyrone and his children were born in Coalisland. The market town nearest was Dungannon.
He was married to Mary Anne Cranston b. ca. 1844. His father was Robert Hanna and his mother's first name was Hannah.
The Cranstons may have been related to the Cranston family who owned or ran a pottery in Coalisland.
The Hannas may be related by marriage to the Fox, Matchett and Wilson families.
I know very little that can be verified through available online records so if anyone has or comes across information on this family please let me know. Tom Walden twalden27@gmail.com

My 3x great-grandfather was John Cranston, who emigrated to the United States about 1800. From family lore and others who have tried tracing the line, he lived in Co Monaghan near Co Fermanagh and possibly Co Tyrone. We believe he was descended from and Archbishop John Cranston, and another Cranston who was a clergyman in Agbahog parish. Records seem to be very sketchy. I would love to communicate with anyone who has a connection, My email is dccranston@outlook.com,
