I have unverified information that my 2x great grandfather, Samuel Duncan Davidson, was born in Cookstown, Tyrone County. I'm assuming that at some point, his family came to Ireland from Scotland. Samuel was born in 1819 and is believed to have lived in Cookstown most of his life. His father's name was William Davidson, and he is listed as a farmer on Samuel's marriage certificate.
On 11 June, 1849, he married Annie Elizabeth Greer, whose father, James, is listed as a farmer of Armagh. Annie, who was born in 1825, perhaps in Belfast) was living in Belfast for some time before her marriage. Samuel and Annie married in West Derby, Lancashire, England and had their first son, William (my great grandfather) in 1850 in Liverpool. They emigrated to Canada, arriving in Ontario in about 1851. Both Samuel and Anne lived out their lives there, Annie dying in 1911 in St. Thomas, Ontario, and Samuel in 1912.
I'm hoping to find some information on the exact dates of Samuel and Annie's births, and hopefully find out more about their parents. Neither of their mothers are mentioned anywhere on official documents I've found. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Hi Judy
Do you happen to know the religion of these ancestors?
Here's a possible marriage of Samuel's parents (there were none in Tyrone) from www.rootsireland.ie/:
There are 3 for James Grier / Greer - 2 Donegal 1822 & 1823 (both C of I) & 1 Down 1823 - no religion stated.
There are a few birth records but not in the right counties or years.

Hi Col
Thanks for this. On the 1871 Canadian census it says they're Presbyterian (both Samuel and Anne Davidson). I should have included that in my first post.
Anne could certainly have been C of I, but that's not been listed on any census I've seen. I'll check out the marriage data you sent. Thank you!
