Hello, I have been dead ended in my search.  I am looking for decendents of the following:

James Duncan, labourer had a daughter named Annie Duncan. Roman Catholic, married James Gallagher of Londonderry in 1901.  They were married in Murlog Chapel, Strabane.  My grandmother was her daughter, Marie Gallagher.

James Duncan had a brother, John Duncan, a Brewer, who had a daughter also named Ann who married William Quigley a Barber from Tyrone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I do have the marriage certificates of both Annie and Ann.

  • Hi

If you haven't already you could try checking information to be found in the 1901 and 1911 census records for other relatives. You can find this here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

You may also want to have a look at:

Most Catholic records are held locally - One site which might be of use is - http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/ - where you can ?browse? an overview of available records per county. If you have any difficulty, you could try writing/contacting to the parish priest for possible assistance.

Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you.

Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,
