Looking for informaton for family of James MULLEN born circa 1835 possibly in County Tyrone, unknown parish.  Believe he emigrated to US (Boston area) as a child circa 1850 with Rosanna.  Believe he was son of Patrick (possibly Charles) MULLEN and Rosanna HAGAN/HOGAN. Found emmigration record of a Charles, Rosanna and James Mullen emmigrating from Newtownstewart from the port of Derry on the Hershell in 1847. Looking for any informationon on the family prior to emigrating and possible relatives remaining in the area.

  • Thanks, Rory

It's a long shot but I'm running out of options.

  • Hi Rory, I'm new to Irelandxo, and have a few basic questions:

    1. What does the "Points" mean (just next to your image)? Currently you have 2 bars coloured orange.

    2. The Ships List (site) for free settlers to South Australia, show ancestor John McGuire having origin Co. Tyrone, and age and occupation.  Were any records kept at the Departure end , such as emigration papers? embarkation register? How does one seek out the name of the Parish within Co.Tyrone?

    3. Are the borders of Tyrone same now, as in 1855?

    Thanks from Eire2Go.
