Have reached a "brickwall" with (1) Anne Rice and her parents Mathew & Mary Rice (2) Patrick McEvoy, Anne's husband from Co Louth.
Anne Rice was born about March 1798 near Dundalk, Ballinteskin, Co Louth, Ireland in the parish of Ravensdale. Her other people were Hugh and Owen Rice. Anne married Patrick McEvoy; my great grandfather was their son, James McEvoy born 1 August 1830--he relocated in Massachusetts in 1850; his mother Anne and his siblings relocated in the same area in 1853 without her husband Patrick! ( someone suggested that Parick's father may have been a "Thomas"??)
Could use help with Mathew and Mary Rice, Anne Rice McEvoy and Patrick, Hugh and Owen Rice.
Thank you. . .
John

Hi John,
Thank you for your message.
You do not mention what the family?s connection to Cork is?
It may be a good idea to also place this message on the Louth parish page as this is the county that both Anne and Patrick were from.
Ballinteskin is a townland in the civil parish of Carlingford, here is a link to that parish page:

(Ravensdale is a Catholic parish in Louth)
Kind regards,

Hi, John --
This may be a stretch but it's worth trying. My gr-grandfather was PATRICK RICE of Lisdoo, Dundalk. He owned a pub, the Lisdoo House, on the Newry Road (still a main road in and out of Dundalk). His father was PETER RICE (b. abt. 1813) and I have been able to find a marriage between PETER RICE & CATHERINE McEVOY (B. ABT 1819). I am not certain if this is my family or not but I thought it might have value to you, since you mentioned both names in your post. RICE does show up frequently in Louth ... ours appear to be strongly associated with the LIsdoo/Dowdallshil areas of Dundalk.
I hope this is helpful!
Best,
Judy Rice
