Looking for Walsh family from Waterford. Daughter Mary who married Michael O'Brien at O'Callaghans Mills, Clare in 1872. Father Thomas Walsh, mother's name unknown. The Walsh's brought up three of Mary and Michael's children. John born 1872, Michael born 1873 and possibly a Patrick who called himself Walsh. Michael and John immigrated to New Zealand in early 1900s.

We do seem to be researching the same O'Brien family. Michael and Mary O'Brien are my great grandparents. They went to Wales first with their sons John and Michael. They then went to England.
John joined the Army and served in India under the name John Walsh, when he returned to England he married Nora Murphy in 1908. They had a daughter Mary and the family travelled to NZ in 1910. They settled in Timaru,, and had 5 more children including my father John Martin O'Brien born 22 May 1913.
The family who lived in Ngapara are related.
Michael O'Brien also travelled to NZ and settled in Timaru, he married Elizabeth and they lived in Victoria Street in Timaru.
Are we doing the same family?
