My Greatgrand father was Patrick whelan the son of Edmund Whelan and Margaret Whelan from Upper Dunhill. Patrick was b 1845. His Brothers Stephen and William and a Sister Elizabeth came to Australia. Another Sister Kate married John Power. 2 of Kate and John's sons Stephen and Patrick came to Australia and lived with my Grandparents at Bacchus Marsh in Victoria, Australia. I would love to make contact with Whelan or Power connections inthe area if possible. When in Dunhill 3 years ago I met Pat Power that lives there who has never married.A lot of my ancesters are buried at the Catholic Church yard but no headstones. In the meantime it may be an idea to also post a ?reaching out? message in a more local forum such as a newsletter or newspaper. That way if there are any Whelans or Powers still in the area they will be more likely to see your message.
