I am trying to trace my fathers ancestors who moved to England and lived in Chesterfield in the 1850's.The records I have show them born in Waterford.Michael Whelan was born around 1831 this is my best info so far confirmed from my research.

Lot's of Whelan/Phelan's in waterford County. I do have a Michael born April 1832.

Thank you for your reply. I realise this is a difficult search because of the popular name in this area.I am certain from my research that the person I am searching for lived and married inChesterfield England in 1854.
His wife was Bridget Kelley who was also born in Waterford.His father is shown as Maurice on the marriage.I cannot find any records that confirm the date they travelled to England or any records that show his death.Will any of this show it is the same person?
