Hi: I'm researching Hennessy & Drohan families at Feddans
I have a letter from Ellen Drohan (nee Hennessy) & John Drohan to Ellens brothers John & Thomas Hennessy in Tasmania in May 1882. The brothers had been transported 30 years earlier.
In the letter Ellen & John have no children and are living on the remnants of the family (Hennessy) farm at Feddans in a precarious way. Her landlord is Colonel McQuay and she has had to sell a major portion of the farm to Edmond Fitzgerald of Ballygarrett to repay a loan to him. He lives 3 or 4 fields away from them.
In her letter she says that it has been written by William O'Grady of the Castle, Peggy Moloneys husband.
Is William O'Grady of the Feddans Castle property or from the Mothel-Power Castle property or from Ormond Castle in Carrick on Suir?? Also I'm interested in any information on Feddans Castle, as I've been unable to find anything online
I have no date of death for Ellen or John.
Any information on this family would be appreciated
Thank- you from Tasmania

No luck on Feddans Castle other than a GPS location and an indication the castle was in ruins. No info located on William O'Grady either
These two death records could be the Ellen and John you mention. These two died in the same townland so likely husband and Wife but are they the correct Ellen and John Drohan?
eighth record John Drohan 1889 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…
fifth record Ellen Drohan 1899 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…
