Thanks to IrelandXO I connected with relatives of my paternal Grandfather in County Tipperary (2009 connection and 2018 visit to my homeland). Now I would like to connect with the history of my Grandmother Kathryn O'Donoghue (30 July 1872 Balliulough Co Waterford ). Her parents were:
John Donohoe (abt 1841-8 Nov 1920 Kilmacthomas Waterford) and Alice Kearney (baptized 24 Feb 1846 in the Diocese of Waterford + Lismore) died 26 Sep 1909 Stradbally) married 27 Feb 1870. Their other offspring:
Matthew Donohoe baptized 14 Dec 1870 Balliulough Co Waterford (I have no other information about Matthew)
Michael Donohoe baptized 10 Oct 1874 Balliulough Co Waterford
Patrick Donohoe born Dec 1876
Bridget born and died Nov 1877
Mary Margaret born Jan 1879 Stradbally ? died Nov 1910 in Sullivan County New York her spouse was Mahlon Clyde Sheely
Elizabeth or Bridget Donohoe born July 1882 Stradbally died Sep 1934 Beacon Dutchess Co New York USA her spouse Dennis Timothy O'Neil
Hannah (Johanna or Anna) Donohue born Dec 1884 Stradbally ? died Feb 1939 in Manhattan New York USA her spouse "Jack" McGinty
John Donohoe born July 1887 Stradbally ? Family stories say he died in the Black & Tan War
Nellie Donohoe born July 1890 Stradbally ? died May 1938 in Chicago Illinois USA her spouse Peter P Sullivan
I have extensive USA research on the females who emigrated to the USA but I have been unable to find baptismal records for quite a few of the Donohoe (Donohue, Donoghue,O'Donoghue) family. Stories handed down say that Alice Kearney's mother was a "Whalen" and that the family ran a pub.

Dear pmmfamilytree, If you'd like to send me an email - cianflaherty96@gmail.com - I might be able to help you with the Stradbally end of things. According to the 1901 and 1911 census, your family lived in Stradballymore townland, but not in the village, so it shouldn't be too difficult to pinpoint their house or the site of it. Best wishes,
C Flaherty, IrelandXO Volunteer ☘
