In following records on Roots Ireland it appears as though the name of Whelan and Knox are connected to my Thomas Budd family. I am struggling to connect my Thomas Budd bap 1852 to the family I believe that he belongs to. Here is what I have found on Roots Ireland, Family Search, and rec'd from Waterford Heritage Center.
Thomas Budd and Mary Shea married 1 Sept 1850 in Trinity Without Parish. One witness is Mary Knox. I have been unable to find the baptism for Thomas but I found a probable death for him in 1899 in Waterford. The approx. birth here is 1823. Thomas and Mary are my Thomas' bap. 1852 parents.
Thomas Budd and Ellen Knox married 11 Aug 1816 in St. Patrick's Parish. Also on 11 Aug 1816 this Thomas was "received into the church as an adult" in Trinity Within. On Roots Ireland the 1816 baptism is just listed. The additional information of "received...as an adult" is information I received from Waterford Heritage Center years ago.
I found 3 children for Thomas Budd and Ellen Knox. They are: Elizabeth ((bap 1821, Trinity W/O); Ann (bap 1823, Trinity W/O) and Joseph (bap 824 (Trinity W/O). I cannot find a baptism for Thomas (Mary Shea's husband) and it sure seems like he should be here.
Elizabeth married Bartholomew Whelan in 1843. My great grandfather Thomas was found in the 1880 U.S. census living with a Jeremiah Whelan and his family in San Francisco, CA.
Does anyone know why the baptism of Thomas just doesn't seem to be there? I've looked at all of the online sources available. Waterford Heritage Center has sent me all the information they have on this particular Budd family.
Any and all ideas are welcome! Thank you,
