Ryan, Connors, Fitzgerald, Walsh, Barron, Grant
Thomas Ryan and Helena (Ellen Connors), my gggrandparents, were married in Trinity Without, Sept 28, 1863. Both lived on Wallingford St.; witnesses were John Fitzgerald and Helen Walsh; priest was Thomas McGrath. No parents were listed for either on the record!!! The following year, a son, Stephen, was born June 13, 1864 on Parliament St., family living on Wellington St.. His baptism was listed as May 1st, 1864!!!! Witnesses were Ivannis Barron?? and Maria Grant. The priest was R. Dunphy. I know birth registrations were often dated later than actual birth. Here's hoping someone will recognize a name or family in Ballybricken and help me as I am completely stuck. In 1866, a son, Thomas, was born to these parents at the Workhouse in Cashel, Tipperary - record says father was in New York, America, mother Ellen Ryan nee Connor. Praying someone will have some information so I can do an Irish jig of happiness! Thank you.

Dear Cait
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
It isn't unusual that parents' names are not included in parish records, particularly early records. I haven't been able to locate an online marriage record for any children born to the couple. There is a Stephen Ryan married to a Mary Dunne in Waterford in 1898 but I can't be sure this is your Stephen.
Have you been able to locate a death record for Thomas in the US? You could take a look through the NLI baptisms to see if the couple had any other children
Best wishes

Thank you. They had one son, Stephen, who was baptized at Holy Trinity Without in 1864 and then, another son, Thomas, born in Cashel, Tipperary in 1866 while the father, Thomas was in the USA. By 1867, Ellen and the 2 boys were also in the USA, in Newark, NJ. In the states, they had 8 more children. Thomas died in 1895 in Newark, and Ellen died in 1913 in Peabody, MA.
