I am interested in finding the parents or other relatives of James Carroll b1810 Westmeath. He was convicted 25/7/1832 aged 22 and sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia.  He received his Certificate of Freedom in 1839 and subsequently married an Irish lass Maria Dempsey in Sydney.  The trial was in 'Co Westmeath' and he gave his place of birth as Westmeath when married.

I have possible parents as Matthew Carroll and Mary Regend but can not find anything about them.

Any help to find his relatives, and his date/place of birth would be great.

  • I have found  2 generations for James Carroll.  If you would like to give me a user name I can invite you to share the family tree in Ancestry.  Alternatively you can go and have a look at the Carroll tree under user 'bnbforbarkers'.

    Good luck with your research.
