family History:

William Lambert, 17 Apr 1758, Dublin, Ireland Died 1807. His father Lewis Jones Lambert,  Dublin Ireland died 1871. His father AAran Lambert Died in 1747. His father Patrick Lambert (or Lamporte) died in 1707. I have Names and dates but the location of where they lived is sketchy. I have a family history of the Lambert or De Lamporte of Wexford that goes from before the 1500 to the late 1800..It talks of castles and long lists of decendents. I would like to know exactly where they come from.  I would be happy to share it if anyone is interested or could help me deciper it. I live in Texas, USA.

  • Dear Sueq456:

Many thanks for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.

The records that you refer to and that time period are often very sketchy and have very little extra information attached to them.

Have you considered looking at graveyards for the surname in Dublin and Wexford?

There may be some information on the following sites:

    www.interment.net

    www.historicgraves.com

In addition, you might also contact the RCB Library in Churchtown Dublin.  They hold a number of COI parish registers, burial registers and other sources that may assist you with your research.

    Their website is:  https://www.ireland.anglican.org/about/rcb-library.

The best of luck with your research.  You might consider creating a Profile for one of your Lambert Ancestors on the XO Chronicles featute (tab above at the top of the page).  You can add as much or as little information as you have.  These profiles are checked and read by many of our members who are also researching and one of them may have further information for you.  In addition, they may see your anestor's profile and wish to collaborate with you.

If you have any questions, please email me at:  jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com

    All the best,

    Jane.
