I'm looking to find out more about my ggreat grandfather's family of origin. My ggreatgrandfather's name was Patrick Egan. He was born in 1809. He gave his birthplace as Leitrim and also spoke about attending church in Drumshambo. His parents were James Egan and Catherine Donely. We're not sure if Catherine was his step mother or blood mother. Patrick left Ireland about 1830. He used to say that he left several brothers and sisters in Ireland. Family lore says he first went to New Orleans and worked in an apothocary there, and then came to upstate New York and settled in Saratoga County in Sept of 1842. Please repond if you feel you might be related. Jane McGarvey
