My 2x Gt Grandparents John Devereau & Maria Lowe married at Kiltennel Co Carlow on 25 November 1839.
I have no idea how they ended up in Ireland. All we know about John Devereau is that he was (according to the one census (1851) where we have him) born about 1810 in England. Maria Lowe was born abt 1825 in Cuckney, Nottinghamshire, England the daughter of Stephen Lowe, a groom & horse dealer/trainer, and Elizabeth Annabel.
In 1841 Maria Devereau nee Lowe is with her parents in the Isle of Man but her husband is not on the census.
Any help in trying to unravel the mystery would be appreciated
