I am researching James Keating and  four brothers who were from County Wexford, ??Leinster??, Ireland.  I learned they were from County Wexford, because it is inscribed on the family  tomb in St. Patrick’s Cemetery #2 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. In this tomb are buried:Nicholas Keating (abt 1810-1844)James Keating (Abt 1814-1820 - 1888)Michael Keating (abt 1815-1876)(not buried in family tomb)Dennis Keating (abt 1822/23-1882)Cornelius Keating (abt 1826-bef 1880) All of these men were in the building trades; carpenter, plaster, builder, etc.  I don’t believe they arrived in the US together. James Keating ...Immigration: 1838 Jun 30:  Arrived in the US by this date IF the record that states "James Keating was granted citizenship on 30 Jun 1843 at the Circuit Court Eastern District of the State of Louisiana" is the correct James Keating.   George McGillway and Patrick Conroy were witnesses.  This James Keating would have been in the US for at least five years.  At death in 1888 obit says he lived 50 years in New Orleans ... arriving in 1838? Michael Keating ..."1872 Great Register"No. 28758 for the Michael Keating, 51 in 1866. He was naturalized in New Orleans on 11 Oct 1844 in the 1st Dist. Court and was in Sacramento Co. in 1872 according to the Great Register. The register doesn't provide the birth place.1839 Oct 11: Michael, arrived in the US on or before this date, according to the California Great Register of 1872. Nicholas Keating ...OBIT: The Daily Picayune, Sunday 11 Aug 1844 #171.  P 2, C 6 On Saturday evening August 10 of congestive fever NICHOLAS KEATING in the 32 year of his age.  His friends and those of his brothers James and Michael are invited to attend his funeral this aftrnoon at 4 o'clock from the residence of his brother Michael Keating . Denis Keating ... Denis left New Orleans before 1860 and died in 1882 in San Francisco, California. Cornelius Keating ... Married in Ireland Mrs. Honora Keating (nee unknown) IMMIGRATION:  ca 1850 when daughter Ann was born in Ireland according to 1860 census.  Although in 1900 their children Cornelius, Bridget and Maria said they immigrated in 1853.  However, it was 1852 when Denis put the ad in the Boston Pilot looking for his brother Cornelius.
