Henry Kehoe born c1791 married Johanna Kirwan born c1791 around 1823.  First daughter Mary was born 1824 before they relocated to Canada from County Wexford in 1825.  Henry's brothers Michael Kehoe married to Ann Daly and Peter Kehoe married to Bridget O'Toole also relocated to Canada before 1830.  Nephew John Kehoe, niece Bridget Kehoe and nephew Peter Kehoe, children of Moses Kehoe and Margaret Kinsella also relocated to Canada mid 1800's.  Nephew Henry Kehoe and wife Ann Hudson arrived Canada c1847.

If Irish naming patters were followed Henry's father would be John Kehoe.  My goal is to locate their RC Parish of origin in hopes that church records still exist.

  • Hi there,

You could try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) or the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64). Griffith's is freely available here: www.askaboutireland.com or www.failteromhat.com

Perhaps someone in the local community will be able to help you further.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,
