I recently discovered your website and am grateful to have found such a wonderful resource of volunteers.
My 2nd g-grandmother Ellen Barry was born to father Patrick Barry (a farmer) and (unknown) mother in Wexford in about 1831. There are no known siblings. That's all of the Ireland information I have. Ellen emigrated to the small town of Wortley, South Yorkshire, England (date unknown), and married Anthony Handlen, from Cork, in 1852. She was a mother to twelve children, was a shopkeeper, and worked at the town reading room. She was widowed in 1896 and died in Wortley in 1900. Her Find-A-Grave memorial is at https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/214018655/ellen-handlen
My Ancestry and 23andme DNA has been out for four years and has not resulted in any conclusive Irish Barry connections. Being in the US, I have also been unable to correctly identify any Ellen or Patrick Barry family records in Ireland, and welcome any suggestions and/or assistance. My wife and I are in the early stages of planning a 2025 trip to Ireland, my ancestral homeland. Your efforts are greatly appreciated; thank you very much for your time!

Hi Steve, I've been chatting to our volunteer. He'll need a little more information to get into searching and wondered if you had any inclination as to what area in Wexford Ellen was born. Do you have any records, birth, death, or marriage that might offer clues? Barry is an incredibly popular surname in the Wexford area.
