Hi

My GGG was born in Monart in about 1822/24. His name was James Row/Roe/Rowe. Is anyone out there familiar with this family. He moved to Cornwall and then to Australia.

  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

There are no baptisms for a James Roe/RowRowe for that early period. Unfortunately RC parish records begin after the period you refer to above so there will be no baptism or marriage records for anyone baptised or married in that parish prior to that time.

There are no Rowe/Row entries on the Griffith's Valuation for Monart but some for other parts of the county. Do you know anything further about the family?

    Best wishes

  • Hi Clare,

Unfortunately not. I wish I did.

Even the rellie I know about didn't share much with his family because his death certificate in Australia has no parent details.

I was hoping there might be some Row/Roe/Rowe family around Monart or Enniscorthy who may know something.

    Brian.

  • As a long shot you could try the residential online phonebook and use the address to write to those listed:
