I am trying to find information for WILLIAM SARGENT (b abt 1866 Cappoquin) and wife Bridget (nee OKEEFE). They moved to Wexford sometime after 1911 . Believe he worked for PIERCE as an overseer.

Also sisters Lena SARGENT (b 1880 Cappoquin), Bridget (b 1876 Cappoquin) who were both Teachers in 1911 census in William Street, Wexford No2 Urban. They were living with their sister Margaret and her husband Richard ORMOND.

  • I know that you have told me this before and you might think me a tad slow BUT I do not have contact with any Sargents in Cappoquin to trace the family. The 3 Sargent girls born in Cappoquin definately moved to Wexford . I am trying to find out their details of those of their parents and siblings and their ancestry - where the Sargents originated from.

I believe fthat the Clonmel Sargints are the Gentry  with land holdings and titles and no evidence so far that they are the same family . They were also not of the Catholic faith. These are the Sargents that went to Canada . Other reserachers are following that family and so far we see no link.

My Sargent cousin is visiting Waterford/Cork now but has had limited success with discovering the Sargent roots. They are related to the Sargents of Cappoquin garage etc but it is trying to clarify how and the structure of the Sargent families is proving difficult. We are halfway there but it is still somewhat confused.

I am trying to find someone who may be researching the same family for assistance.
