Friends,

My ancestor Jane Mary Cary/Carey appears to be from the Kilpipe area.  She was born ca 1850.  We have letters to her from her cousin Patrick Joseph Carey (b. ca. 1861) of Tomanierin Lower.  He was quite active in local government, and also ran his farm.  I see that he seems to have had 12 children per the 1901 census.  He died 1931 in Rathdrum.  I also see that in the 1820s, Careys owned land in Tomanierin, Coolbawn, and Clone.  And I believe that there are still some Careys in the local area.

My ancestor Jennie's parents were Michael Cary/Carey and Mary Murphy, per her NYC death record of 1911.  I don't know her exact connection to Patrick J or his cousin or brother Hugh (same age), who also appears in the census as living in Tomanierin Upper (with some Doyles, since there was only one inhabited house, it seems).

Perhaps someone can help me find baptismal records or the like, perhaps from St Bridget's at Annacurra?  I am not sure of parish boundaries over time.  Anything will help.

I also see that a William Carey of Kilpipe was a rebel officer in 1798 and was transported to Sydney in 1802, aboard the Atlas II.

Thank you in advance.

Simon
