Hello everyone. Searching for informaton of the family of William Wilson (about 1850). He had a brother named John. Apparently farmed in Upper Drim, Kiltegan area or Ballingue for several centuries. Some his sons were George Nicholas, Charles and Tom all of whom moved to Canada. All born in the above areas. Thank you.

Gary:
In the 1901 census there were two Wilson families in Drim townland (misspelled as Driem). One was headed by a William and the other by an Edward. Edward died between 1901 and 1911 and his son Edward took over the household. The 1911 census shows that William and his wife had 6 children and 5 were living in 1911. I also located a civil death index record for a William Wilson who died in 1921 in the Baltinglass registration district which includes Kiltegan parish.

Thanks for your comment Roger, the news about Edward Wilson may be useful. I have the other material from the census but am trying to get back a little further, I know from the tithe records for 1827 that William Wilson appears with 95 acres I believe as well as John, Henry, Thomas, Joseph and Henry. I also know from Lord Fitzwilliam records that a Joseph emigrated at the Lord's expense in 1848. Of course I don't know how any of this connect to the family. The 1827 record in describing the location says "Fedden Coile". Do you know what this means?
Thanks again.

While researching a Georgina Bennett here in Tipperary-- i found she emigrated to Canada in , married a John Wm Wilson and settled, firstly in Limerick, Sask--. The Canadian census, shows his father as Charles, mother Floreace, --also shows a Kevin Davis Wilson and Ester Moira, son and daugter. John Wilson and Georgina, at some stage moved to Montreal where she worked in the hotel business. John Connors
