I am seeking information about George Chapman, Elizabeth Chapman and Elizabeth Hall.

Elizabeth Chapman is my gggg grandmother, she married in Western Australia in 1839 ( as a widower with the surname Wood/s).  She married again 1865 and at the time her parents were recorded as George Chapman and Elizabeth Hall from Newtown Mount county Wicklow.

I can not find any information of when  or how Elizabeth arrived in Australia. I am hoping I might be able to find out more if I unearth some information on her parents. So far I haven't .

Would anyone know of the family and be able to shed some light on them?

Looking into al your named ancestors,

Did Elizabeth and her husband Woods move to England and make their way to Australia from there?

There are a few Richard Floods who pass away in 1830s in the UK.

Nothing found on Elizabeth Hall. I wonder was she from somewhere other than Wicklow?

  • Thank you everyone. I think Richard Woods is a good chance. I'll see if I can find more on him. He might of died in Australia.

I think Elizabeth Hall Might be from somewhere else too as I havent been able to find her.

I found newspaper articles of George Chapman school master from Newtwn Mount Kennedy in  High Court case v Rev Stennett in 1827. Featured in lots of newspapers.
