Seeking information on Thomas Waldron, born County Wicklow abt 1820.  Immigrated to Australia from London 1849.  Noted as a labourer and of the Episcopalian faith.  Possible connections to the Philpott family.  There are Waldron and Philpott families in the parish of Arklow.  This may be the parish of origin.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find a Thomas Waldron baptismal record around 1820 in Co. Wicklow. The closest record was 1827 in the RC parish of Avoca. The records for Arklow parish start in Decmeber 1817 so if Thomas was actually born and baptized in Arklow parish before December 1817 a record would not be available. https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0457

You may want to add Thomas' emigration story to our XO Chronicles site  https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

  • Thanks Roger, for your efforts.  Even though there were no results it does eliminate Arklow as the parish of birth.  I'm pretty confident that he was born 1820 or thereabouts.  The search continues.........
