I am looking for information on the people mentioned in this newspaper posting in the Boston Pilot 1851:
http://infowanted.bc.edu/record/?recid=6799
The named mentioned are Patrick Ward, Edward McHugo and John McHugo. I believe the first two emigrated from Galway to Boston in 1851. John McHugo emigrated to Vermont from Galway, around 1846, along with his wife Winifred Ward. They may have married in the US. I am not sure.
Edward McHugo and and Patrick Ward came from:
Home County: Galway
Parish: Ballynakill
Townland: Dooros
Barony: Ballynahinch
Poor-Law: Clifden
In Winifred Ward's obituary it is noted that her mother was Marcella Ward, and her father was Thomas.
That's all I've got. Can anyone help?

Hi Tom,
You could try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) and the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64). Griffith's is freely available at www.askaboutireland.com
Do you know the name of the ship they emigrated on or any specific date? Generally, there is more information at the port of arrival rather than the port of departure.
Have you checked any census records in the US for them?
Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.
