I am looking for more information on the geneology of my grandfather, Bernard Benedict McAuley. He was born November 1, 1905 in Ballymena. He left Londonderry and arrived in the US on 28 Apr 1925. He was born to Bernard McAuley (born December 4, 1873) and Bridget McKinney (birthdate unknown).

Hi there,
Could you please post your message here: http://www.irelandxo.com/group/skerry-antrim (Ballymena)
You could first check for their presence on the 1901 census. This is freely available online. I have taken a look, and this could be the record for Bernard: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Ballymena_and_Town_and_Urban_District_of_Ballymena/Castle_Street/925801/
You could check for baptismal and marriage records in the General Register Office (GRO) here: http://www.groireland.ie/about_us.htm
Check also the land records called Griffith's Valuation (1848-64) which is freely available here: www.askaboutireland.com
Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.
Kind regards,
Sinead Cooney
Genealogist (Ireland XO)

I am researching Francis McAuley born about 1814 in County Antrim. He came to Canada and married Eleanor Johnston in 1847 in Quebec, Canada. He died in 1974 in Quebec. His father might have been Matthew McAuley
