Looking for Kelly family from early 1800's. One of the boys (my GGG Grandfather) was Philip Kelly and came in 1826 to New Brunswick, Canada.
There is a written account that there were 7 children that came from Wexford but then on the marriage certificate in New Brunswick, Canada he is stated to be a man of Bantry. I was surprised to find there is a Bantry in Wexford.
There is a confilct of his birthdate, being 1799 but then in 1881 when he died, there was an insert stating that someone had snuck into the funeral home and saw the plaque on the coffin read Philip Kelly, died at age 99.
Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there,
There are Roman Catholic church records available for the diocese of Enniscorthy. Baptismal records date from 1794 and marriage records date from 1794. These are available from the National Library of Ireland, Pos. 4249. If you have any difficulty you could try writing to the parish priest for assistance.
The birth date/ age of death may not necessarily be accurate, so I would not automatically assume that these details are correct.
