I just discovered IrelandXO and I'm thrilled that you exist. My great x4 grandfather  THOMAS COAN stated on his USA citizenship application that he was from "The Parish of Kilconnell, County of Galway, Ireland." He was born in 1811. His father's name was MARTIN and his mother was MARGARET (maiden name unknown).

I would love to travel to Galway in the next few years, but until then, is there anyone in your XO group who knows anything about the surname COAN in that area? I would love to know the townland Thomas was from. Any information would be very gratefully received!
