  • I already posted a query on this line, but received your message to post more info.

Daniel Reynolds m Brigit O"Donald RC Ch, Cloone. I have a marriage record for Daniel Reynolds and Mary O'Donel 02/03/1829 in Cloone Roman Catholic Parish, Co. Leitrim.  both were RC.   They  emigrated to New York 1849.  His daughter Mary Bridget Reynolds was b May 31, 1842,in Ireland ( presumably Leitrim), emigrated with them and d 1924 NYC.

Daniel Reynolds was buried in the plot belonging to Peter and Ann Reynolds Tague of Cloone, Leitrim.  There are several Carrolls and Reynolds in that plot at St. Mary's, Kingston, NY.  I am presuming Ann Reynolds is a relative of Daniel Reynolds.  From the 1870 US census I have Peter Tague b 1821 aqnd Ann Reynolds Tague b 1834;  In the US 1880 census I have Peter Tague b 1822 and Ann Tague b 1833.

The dau, Mary Bridget Reynolds, m John Warren Carroll in New York.  John Warren Carroll was b in Ireland, but I don't know where. He emigrated to New York City 1851.  John Warren Carroll was buried in the same Tague plot in 1894,  In that same grave 2 Daniel Carrolls were buried.  One  DanielCarroll d March 17, 1855 at age 67, implying birth about 1788.  The other Daniel Carroll d 1865.  A Catherine Reynolds was buried in the plot in 1909.

From the Irish American obit I have a Bridget Reynolds who died age 41 in NYC in Jan 1884 implying date of birth about 1843.  She was from Cloone, Leitrim.  I know she was not Mary Bridget ReynoldsCarroll above, because she died in 1924, and, while her husband, John Warren Carroll was buried in the Tague plot about 100 mi north of NYC, she was buried in NYC.

Every other person in Kingston, NY seemed to be named Reynolds which has made researching them difficult.  There are also a good number of Carrolls there.  I know Peter Tague was a boatman who regularly traveled from Kingston, NY by boat down the Hudson River to NYC.  If the naming pattern is of help, these are the children of John and Mary Reynolds Carroll in chronological order:

    Mary

    Adele

    Elizabeth

    Thomas

    Charles F

    Jane

    Loretta

    John

    Daniel

The names of the Peter and Ann Reynolds Tague in chronological order are:

    John

    Charles

    Michael

    Augustine

    Thomas F

( all the children of both couples were b in New York.)

I would appreciate assistance with the Reynolds and Carroll family.

  • You might want to try the Westchester County NY records. A number of emigrants from Cloone settled there, including my Great, great grandfather. The Sweeney and MacLean family plot was in Ossining New York.
