Searching for any relatives of Patrick Toole who I believe might be from County Wicklow. He was born Circa 1852. His father was also Partick Toole.

I think he had a brother Robert. He arrived in Liverpool and is on the 1871 census living in Great Crosby. He married Elizabeth Lupton St Peter and Pauls R.C. Chapel 18th January 1876.

He died March 1905

  • Hi there,

Without a more precise location in County Wicklow, I am unable to recommend church sources to check. There are other records you can check in the meantime, which might offer you more clues so that you can check the church records at a later date.

Civil registration records are available from the General Register Office (GRO). These start from 1864 however. You can access the website here: http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm

You could also try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) or the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64). Griffith's is freely available here: www.askaboutireland.com or here: www.failteromhat.com Failte Romhat has lots of other useful links you could try looking at.

The 1901 and 1911 census records are available here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Have you tried checking any newspapers for death notices from 1905? These might offer more information such as where he was from.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,

    Sinead Cooney
