Hi Paula and all of the Fohenagh researcers!

As part of my genealogy research, I have a question about my Conheeny ancestors.  On some of the baptism records, for James and Honora's children, it gives a number, ie., 55 Clonbrock.  Does this mean that is the address of where they were living at the time?  Was it on the estate, and was it then one of the estate worker's cottages?  If anyone knows I would really appreciate an answer, as I have not been able to find an answer to this question.

Thank you,

Gretchen Metz

  • Hi Gretchen

Great to hear from you again. That address is unusual. Not familiar. I will ask a local historian, he may have some idea. I will get back you with .. hopefully some information.

  • Hi Paula

I hope you find the answers to your questions.  My gggrandmother Mary Dooley and her father Edward (occupation whitesmith) were said to be from 'Clonbrock'.  I'm thinking they were possibly employed and resided on the Clonbrock Estate by the Dillon family??  If you do find any connection Clonbrock and you happen to see the name Dooley on your travels, I would dearly love to hear from you.  In return, if I find any mention of the Conheeny's, I will be sure to forward information via this site.

    Many thanks,

    Kerryn
