Looking for other family member of these families.

Martin Purcell and Anna Scahill's daughter Bridget married Michael Tigue.  Michael was the son of Thomas Tigue and Julia Hogan. Michael and Bridget lived in Cloonbanum.

I know of six children:

Michael born 1829 married Margaret Noon.

Anna born 1831 married Edmund Coen

Catherine born 1833 married Thomas Conry

Bridget born 1835 married Michael Mullooly in 1865

Patrick born May 1838 he married Mary O'Connor in 1864

I have found Bridget and the children in Connecticut in the 1860 census.  On the 1900 census Patrick said that they came to American in 1847.  Does anyone know what happened to Bridget's husband Michael?  Did he die before the family came to America?

I am a descendant of Patrick McTygue.  This family ended up in central Nebraska.

I also know that Bridget Purcell McTygue's brother Patrick came to America. Bridget put an ad in the Boston Pilot Newspaper looking for Patrick her brother.

  • I was able to get the baptismal records for the "Tigue" family. For the first two children the family lived in Luorrough (?- by this entry on the baptismal record) then moved to Cloonbanaun by 1838.

Catherine baptised July 1833 - sponsors Michael Scahill & Sally Pursel

Brid baptised Sept 1835 - sponsors Martin & Margaret Whelan

Patrick baptised May 1838 - sponsors James & Anne Schaill

I know there were at least 2 more children, but no baptismal records for them

I find it very interesting that in the information on the Shrule web site for Cloonbanaun

    Cloonbanaun

311 acres, owned by Dominic O’Flaherty, 12 houses. @ Patrick Dooley @ Martin Nolan @ Patrick Walsh @ Martin Cahill @ Michael Burke Ulick Burke John Nolan Thomas Curran @ Richard Gavan @ Michael Coyne @ Patrick Carroll Martin Carroll Names existing in Cloonbanaun in 1825 but not found in that town- land in 1857: McTige, Martin, Purcele, Scahile.

Question - Is the Martin a first name in this record?  I see a Martin Nolan and Martin Cahill, but not anyone with a last name of Martin.

    Thank you,

    Barbara McTygue Scanlon

The photo is Patrick McTygue and his wife Mary O'Connor.  They were married in Connecticut in 1863.
