Iam looking for my ancestors. My great grandfather was Michael Connolly and he was born in 1831 approx in Strongfort Craughwell. He married Mary Raftery from Garracloone Craughwell on 07-02-1860. Her parents were Patrick Raftery and Ellenora Flemming. I would like to who their parents were and what siblings they had.
I would also like to know about my great grand aunt. She was Honoria Connolly from Strongfort, Craughwell. She married James Tracy on 10-02-1852. He may have been from Coolraugh,Ganty orCraughwell His father may have been either Michael or Peter

Mary I am looking at old unanswered queries and I see the marriage, there is no information on the marriage register as to parents and the witnesses are Martin Connolly and Catherine Fahy. It appears church records for this parish only commence baptisms 1847 and marriages 1856, so unless more are found prior to this we are stuck, the only possible baptism I can find is in Dec 23rd 1860 with a father Michael Connolly and the mother is listed as Mary Connolly, searched 1856 to 1864. Oddly another one is a Bridget in Carabane as previous in 1863 father Michael and mother Mary Tressy, however the witnesses are Michael Raferty and Bridget Tressy so wonder if the priest was confused as he would be filling register possibly later. Hold it all I see another birth to a Michal and Mary Tressy in a different parish. I now find a birth to the Connolly / Raferty couple, John Connolly baptised 12 June 1873, Mary born to the couple 1876 in Craughwell, 29 Feb. (leap year birth)
Post 1864 you can find civil registrations here, but there are a hellish amount of Connolly's in Galway and Michaels too. Click on civil and sign in, free to search but not sure what civil registration to use for the search as you cannot just be Galway, I cannot locate a civil registration and they may not have registered to save the money but it is unusual as there was a hefty fine for not registering. You can see civil reocrds here for free, sign in but a lot of Connollys. https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/
Good Luck
