Seeking researchs, and interested parties in the ancestral lines of the Kilkelly (and varient spelllings), related to the Moore family of Lough Cara Mayo.
Dominico Kilkelly and or Dominick Killikelly is also mentioned as a relative or family member?
The Mossfort line was a more recent marriage to the Moore family.
Earlier marriage to the Kilkelly branch who fled the persecutions.
There is much stock information on several generations of this well known family seen on the internet.
However, we have not been able to find thurough information on each Galway branch and lesser published lines for a comprehensive or organized family tree, for each known generation. Most information is found concentrating on strictly the male line of the three or four well known individuals, in a fashion much like many confusing Peerage notations, limited to the ledest, or prominant, or rank, but not regard parallel lines or other children and their families.
Such data is poorly written, in a sloppy format, not clear on deaths or children, and their lines and decendants, dates, and places.
We would like to see this clarified and sorted out, with a better mapping trail also to the ancestors of the Kilkelly, Moore, to the Lynch of Athy, Kelly, the Browns, or other marriages, siblings, ancestors, and decendants.
This is a work in progress.
We welcome your participation.

Being (one of ) Nina Moore Kilkelly's great grandchildren I'm quite interested in both the Moore and the Kilkelly lines. And I've been trying (mostly in vain) to track down some of the maternal lines for some time now. Have you had any luck tracing some of the other lines? I do have a copy of Philip Crossle's "Pedigree of Mac Giolla Cheallaigh of Cineil Shabhna anglicised Mac Gillikelly of Kinel Cowry, County Galway and eventually Killikelly and Kilkelly of County Galway" (yes it's title is really that long) which has a tree chart going back to Shane, Cosnagh, Teig, Hugh and Gildernew Mac Gillikelly circa 1500 - which is fascinating and has 400+ pgs of documentation, but of course follows the dominant male lines. I'd love to see a comprehensive, organized tree with more on the less known lines.
Is the Dominick Killikelly that you are seeking the Dominick Killikelly who married Helena Kelly (dau. of John O'Kelly and Helen Moroni) in 1729 and was the father of (amongst others) Catherine Killikelly ( b. 13 July 1738 Bilbao Spain) who married the George Moore who built Moore Hall? I show that he was born 27 Aug 1701 in Galway, and his parents were Bryan (Bernard) Killikelly and (his 2nd wife) Rebecca Ormsby.

I received your message, but am not entirely sure how to answer back directly so am posting my reply here:
I'm afraid that I don't have that much that would likely be of use to you. If Nina Moore had any link to St Catherine's or Donnybrook I'm unaware of it. She was the daughter of George Henry Moore of Moorehall and married John Michael Kilkelly of Mossfort at St Andrews, Dublin on Feb 21 1882.
Re John Moore - there was one who was the father of the George who married Catherine Killikelly, but he was married to Jane Lynch Athy. That George also had a son named John, but he died in 1799 having been involved in the rebellion of 1798. (and I'm told named 'President of the Republic of Connaught' by Gen. Humpert.) He was arrested, and died during transport at the Royal Oak Tavern in Waterford. He was originally buried at Ballygunner Temple, Waterford, but exhumed and reburied at The Mall in Castlebar in Aug 1961. That George also had a son named George (too many Georges!) who married Louisa Brown (George's mother disowned him for marrying into that family) and they had a son named John, but he died in 1829 at age 17.
For information on the Killikelly and the Lynch families in Bilbao take a look at http://www.euskalnet.net/laviana/gen_bascas/killy.htm which has an amazing amount of information. (It's in Spanish, but names and dates are fairly easy to understand in any language.) I hadn't looked at it for a couple years, but I seem to remember that they had a link to a site where one could search the parish records of Santiago or San Nicol?s which I don't see now. There is contact info at the bottom of the page, perhaps you could contact him and get more information? (Coward that I am I've thought of writing, but have always chickened out as my Spanish is limited to say the least.....)
The only Moore pedigree that I know of, other than one done by Maurice Moore in the early 1900s (1922??? I'd have to go look at my copy), can be found in 'Sir Thomas More: His Descendants in the Male Line' by Martin J. Blake, published in The Journal of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland Fifth Series, Vol. 36, No. 3, [Fifth Series, Vol. 16] (Sep. 30, 1906), pp. 223-230 which discusses the claim that the Moores of Moorehall are descended from Sir Thomas More. (they most probably were not....)
Other than Crossle's, there was a Killikelly Pedigree commissioned by Bryan Paul de Kilkelly (Catherine's brother) circa 1772. Crossle has a couple pages of notes on that that he says he "copied from Col. C R Kilkelly's own notes". Available at The National Library of Ireland, I think.
Most of Crossle's documentation consists of abstracts of wills, prerogative cause papers and grant books. Of course there are also abstracts of "Fiants of Queen Elizabeth published in the Reports of the Deputy Keeper of the Records of Ireland" or "Inquistitionum in offic. Rot. Chanc. Hiberniae Repertorium. Co.Galway. Elizabeth to William III" which are interesting. And he had access to many records which have since been destroyed. I believe that it's also available at the National Library and one can also order a microfilm of it at LDS Family History Libraries. (which is where I got my copy)
