My Hearne ancestor who came to the U.S. was actually born in Liverpool, but his death certificate lists his parents' birth place as Waterford, Ireland. I do not know if his parents married before moving to Liverpool or if they met there.

Are there any Irish-in-Liverpool resources that anyone is aware of? Or Irish-in-London, as I have those as well.

Hi Sarah,
Our volunteer has made the following suggestions:
I would suggest that she checks the Liverpool Census for 1841, 1851 and 1861 to see if the Hearne family provide some further information on where in Waterford they are from. There were and are a number of Hearne families in County Waterford so a townland name would be necessary to allow her to track the family. Sometimes in later census records the family provides further information on where they were from.

Once she has that information she will be looking for parish records and possibly Tithe Applotment records as the family had left Ireland by the birth of Michael Hearne in Liverpool in 1850 so they will not appear in Griffiths. Details of researching your family history in Co. Waterford are available from http://www.waterfordcoco.ie/en/services/archives/researchingyourfamilyhistory/
I hope that this helps.
Regards,
