Hello, I have no information as to where in Ireland my ancestors came from. They lived in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1861:
Jas Hayes b 1816; Ann Hayes b 1815 and their children-John b 1841; Margaret b1847 and James b 1849-all were born in Ireland. Jas was a shipyard worker and there were 3 'boarders' in the house- Patrick Hayes b 1819; James Cunningham b 1841; John Cunningham b 1843, all from Ireland.
My great grandfather was James Hayes b 1849 and he continued the naming tradition of the first son being called John and the second son James.
I would be grateful for any help. Thankyou.

Also you could try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) or the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64). The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38): Microfilm copies of the books for all of Ireland are available at the National Archives of Ireland (NAI) http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/tithe-applotment-books-and-the-primary-griffith-valuation/ or the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS).
