Hi I m looking for any information on the origins of a Nora Foley that lived in the main street of Murroe in the late 1800s early 1900s? She appears there in both the 1901 and 1911 census s, she was not married. Also a Jeremiah Foley who may have been Nora s father or Uncle who appears to have been from Garranbane/Glenstal and a John Foley who may have been her brother and may have come from Liscreagh. All the Foleys were baptismal sponsors for the Hayes children born in Cappanuke in the late 1800s and my Uncles and Aunts can remember Nora Foley talking to them when they were young chidren going to school in Murroe in the 1930s and she told them she was related to them? Alas no-one can remember how!
Any help appreciated
Regards
James

HI James
I had a quick look in the records there are 2 Hanoras Baptised
Hanora Foley b 1850 to EdmondFoley and Mgt Slattery _ from Glenstal they had 10 children including a Jeremiah
Hanora foley b1856 to John Foley and Bridget Ryan they had 9 children
Jeremiah seems to be a popular name in the foleys
Jerry Foley B 1837 to Jerry Foley and Cath Murphy
Jeremiah b 1848 to Jeremiah Foley and Biddy Horan
Jeremiah b 1851 to Edmond Foley and Mgt Slattery
Jeremiah b 1854 to Patrick Foley and Hanora Dunlea
Hope this helps!
if you want further info on any of the above let me know

Hi Aine I m sure thats her that you have born 1850 as it states she s 40 ( which must be a mistake) in 1901 but 60 in 1910 census! Do you know if there is a John too in the same family of Edmond Foley and Mgt Slattery?. I was hoping a Foley married a Hayes girl at some stage but it was probably a bit further back?
Thanks for that info!

Hey
I know the ages between the two census' are sometims ridiculous.I dont see a John in this family!
There is also no marriage between a Foley man and Hayes woman or vice versa between 1814-1899
