Help Please
Looking for any help in locating our Kehoe family line. The Info I have to go on is given by my husband.
In particular I am looking for MICHAEL KEHOE, a birth date or death date so that I can progress with my research.
here is what I have so far.
1) My husbands father John Kehoe b26/2/1923 in Coolishal Gorey, parents names Michael Kehoe and Elizabeth Kehoe formerly Murphy. They both resided in Coolishal.
2) Marriage cert for Michael Kehoe and Elizabeth Murphy Aug 1922 in RC Church of Ballyoughter,Camolin. Michael was a widower, Elizabeth a spinster. Michaels father was named John Kehoe(farmer) but there was no name for Elizabeths father. The witnesses were named as Peter Kavanagh and Mary Murphy. There is no age given for either bride or groom.
Because they were married in ballyoughter I have to assume that one of them had family or lived in the area. I have found that the Murphys were from Gorey which leads me to believe that the Kehoes lived around the Clonmore area. I am struggling because I cannot find an age for Michael Kehoe and do not know where he is buried or for that matter when exactly he died. Does anyone know which graveyard served Coolishal back in the 1920`s?I have been to the Gorey graveyard near Tesco but he is not buried there. Are there any other Graveyards nearby?
I was told that Michael died when his son John was a toddler so that puts an estimated time between 1924 and 1930. Elizabeth/Ellen Kehoe died in April 1936 when son John was 13years old. She had worked for the O'Donahoe family in Clondaw, Enniscorthy so was buried in Monageer.
Any info no matter how little will be greatly appreciated
Kind regards
Margaret
