I'm descended from John Prendeville & Margaret Lyne (or Lyons), both of Slieveenagh. They married at Killeentierna in 1854. I believe they had only one child, Catherine Prendeville, b. 1855 in Ballygree, who married James Kearney of Kilmurry in 1876.
I know nothing about John, except that he seems to have died not long after he married, as his wife Margaret had married a Patrick Kearney (an uncle of daughter Catherine's husband) by 1864.
Margaret was b. 1834, daughter of Daniel Lyne/Lyons & Margaret Sullivan. Besides my ancestor Catherine Prendeville, I know she also I had the following children with her husband Patrick Kearney in Ballygree:
- James, b. 1864, believe he d. 1953 in Balygree
- Daniel, b. 1866
- Mary, b. 1867
- Richard Parick, b. 1870, m. 1907 Bridget Therese Tagney in Manchester, New Hampshire in the U.S., d. there in 1965
- Patrick, b. 1872
- Bridget, b. 1876
Daniel Lyne & Margaret Sullivan had the following children, besides my Margaret:
- Ellen, b. 1824, m. Thomas Lyne in 1845
- Michael, b. 1825
- Mary, b. 1827, m. James Fitzgerald in 1853
- Margaret, b. 1830, assume she died before birth of my Margaret in 1834
Does anyone know anything about these Prendeville & Lyne families?
